A quick reminder that Marilyn Messenger and Brindley Hallam Dennis will be reading from their short story collection Ambiguous Encounters, and from other collaborations and collections, on Tuesday June 21st at Dacre Hall, Lanercost Priory, near Brampton, in north Cumbria. The reading is free and begins at noon (why not drop in and say Hi[gh]?)….  Copies of the collection will be on sale, and are also available here.

Also at Lanercost, BHD aka Mike Smith, will be running a day workshop on the short story form: ‘We’ll pull stories apart, move ’em around, shake ’em up, and put ’em back together again’…

The workshop, also at Dacre hall, on Saturday June 25th, runs from 10.00am to around 4.30pm with a mid-session break. Based on Mike’s Facets of Fiction Writers Workshop sessions the workshop will look at the short story structure, it’s locations in time and place, and the narrators we create to tell it, and who we think they might be telling it to, and why!

The workshop costs £25 and tickets are available here.
